matt furie

I just sort of fell in love with the work of San Francisco artist Matt Furie because of this drawing:

There's a pretty funny interview with him on Fecal Face.  this is my favorite part:

Q:  "If you were offered a cartoon staring your characters... what would it be like? Soundtrack?"

A: "It would be like sesame street or the muppet show-only animated. There would be lots of characters hanging out and learning lessons together. A lot of riding around on the backs of flying creatures and creatures of the land. There would be volcanos, the jungle, street style, water slides, pizza, lots of dancings, good vibes, animals wearing sunglasses, ect. the soundtrack would be totally o.c."

This is some other stuff of his that i loved...I canNOT get enough of the bmx bikes.  I wish i could find one of those velcro awesome padded wrapper things to go around the bar on my Mongoose.  In fact, I might try.

my interpretation:
This bat is bitching to Skeletor about how his mom threw all his Garbage Pail kids away because he's failing math.

my interpretation:
the de-skinned terminator really likes his bike on the inside, but the other kids make fun of it because it is like, all pink and barbie-colored.

Those are great. Love the giant bat clearly trying hard to explain something to Skeletor.
