remembering why i love the internet

i've been buried in work for so long that i haven't been able to look at the interwebs in awhile.  i've momentarily broken free though, and the amount of cool things i've seen online today is making me pretty happy.  here they are, in no particular order.

1) design your own Kleenex box.

I know, a lot of companies are doing this, like Heinz and M&M's.  But this actually doesn't seem like a bad price for something so customized - $4.99 for an oval Kleenex box that you can customize with your own images, color palette and text.  I made 3 different ones!  Here are two ( the other one is my cats, der.)

2) dress devandra banhart

i'm a sucker of interactive dress-up applications,  and this one is made more awesome by the absolutely insane wardrobe of everyone's favorite modern-day hippie.   also, we share an affinity for tie-dyed socks (as evidenced above).

3)  overlay tv

my friend michael ( whose venture If We Ran It totally deserves it's own post, which i shall write) showed me this site this morning.  apparently, it's a way for brands to call out where their products appear in pop culture media - mainly videos, at the mo.  I guess anyone can tag a product too, or create an overlay for a video/image.

i love that because of this, i can now buy those ridiculous white slatted sunglasses that Kanye's been sporting lately.  ( actually, i saw some guy on the street wearing them the other day, and he looked completely insane).

4) what claudia wore

ok, i saw this yesterday, technically, but it's pretty much the best thing I've ever encountered.   I pretty much only read the outfit description parts of the BSC series, because I can't for the life of me remember any of the actual plots.    I did, however, recall one particularly dirty passage from a Sweet Valley High book to my boyfriend last night during dinner, piquing his interest in '80s teen trash lit.
